Kent Ross is a Composer, Conductor and Music Educator from Melbourne, Australia.

Kent conducted his first show at the age of twenty, only four years after he started learning piano and singing. Years later, and Kent is now in high demand across the Melbourne orchestra and musical theatre scene to conduct and lead shows of all genres.

He has musically directed and conducted over twenty-five musical theatre productions such as Les Miserables, Titanic, Catch Me If You Can and Legally Blonde and has been nominated multiple times for best musical director by the Lyrebirds and the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria.

In 2017, Kent joined the Casey Philharmonic Orchestra where he is now Vice President of the Board and Resident Conductor. He has also been Chief Conductor for the Kingston Symphony Orchestra and lead Conductor for a number of orchestras including Melbourne-based Mandolin Orchestra ‘Concordia’. In 2019, Kent joined youth dance organisation Spark Productions as Music Director and has since joined the Board and conducted their last three major shows.

Over the years, Kent has also composed for film and theatre, played in various bands as a keyboardist and vocalist including heavy metal. He has also conducted a number of choirs in a sacred and secular setting. Kent is also a published composer who has had a number of piano works on ANZCA syllabus.

A highly sought after musical director, composer and arranger, Kent looks forward to continuing to contribute to the Australian musical theatre and classical music scene, following his passions for creating, teaching, shaping and loving music.
